Decorating my home is one of my passions. It’s an ongoing labor of love. I love to add special touches that make my home feel more inviting for guests and comfortable and warm for me and my family. Combining vintage elements with newer pieces are one of my trademarks; I really believe that mixing old with new gives a space more character. Some may refer to it as a ‘curated’ or ‘collected’ feel; however you slice it, giving your home a nod to the past in a chic, updated way, will make your decor unique and memorable.
When we bought our home, we envisioned a formal entry foyer which would welcome guests into our home. We painted the walls in a soft, creamy neutral from Benjamin Moore called Straw Hat (#270). The custom wainscoting wraps around the space and travels up the staircase, giving it a more formal feel (Super White from Benjamin Moore). In keeping with the formality of the space, we installed a polished marble floor from Daltile. In the center of the floor is a 36″ round medallion. It’s an open space, except for the round pedestal table adjacent to the stairs. I enjoy styling the table decor and have fun changing it up seasonally. Here’s what I did for the fall season!

A few notes on the decor elements on the floor… black lantern is from the Hearth & Hand collection at Target. I added the battery operated pillar candle for a soft glow in the evening. The white resin personalized pumpkins are handmade by a friend, Crafting til Dawn. Check out her instagram @crafting_til_dawn for all sorts of unique, personalized gifts and decor items!
