Ah, decor. My passion. My obsession. I can’t say enough about how strongly I feel that one’s home can speak volumes. It can evoke a feeling, an ambiance, an atmosphere unique to you. My husband and I have done some pretty amazing things in our home. It’s a process that we love; from the creation of a concept or idea to the planning and designing, and finally, creating it! I’m so proud of what we’ve accomplished together. I invite you to take a look at our projects here on the blog. We always have a new one brewing!
My personal style is a bit of a mix. My home is a combination of traditional with a little eclectic and farmhouse styles thrown in for good measure. My approach to home decor is ‘mixing old with new’ in as many areas as possible. It adds so much character and uniqueness to a space. It tells a story, especially if the pieces you’ve incorporated into the decor scheme are family heirlooms or hold some sort of sentimental value. It gives you the opportunity to tell a story through your home that nobody else can replicate in the same exact way. If you’re a collector like I am, then utilize those trinkets and treasures that you’ve hunted to bring your decor to a new level. Let’s face it, I love myself a good HomeGoods run; I can fill up my cart in no time. And while everyone needs a go-to store like HomeGoods or Target to score all sorts of goodies, in my eyes, those pieces can’t live on their own. They should be mixed with unique, artful pieces or those that have history. Take my ever-changing fireplace mantel, for example. I found two spectacular blue and white ginger jars at HomeGoods last year that I couldn’t pass up. But I paired them with vintage brass candlestick holders to give the look a layered, richer feel. The simple addition of a couple of vintage pieces makes the look more interesting and inviting.
My home decor and color experience has spanned more than 10 years. Working for the prestigious Benjamin Moore & Co., largely with interior designers, architects, color experts and professional painters, I had the privilege of obtaining one-on-one, and often hands-on, knowledge of the design and color world. I worked with the best of the best, traveling across North America to meet with professionals and consumers. From HGTV superstars and Madison Avenue designers to consumers looking to refresh the look of their homes through paint color, my keen eye for color and design has led me here to do what I love for myself and clients alike.
Whether it’s help selecting a paint color for your walls or choosing the right furnishings and finishes for your family’s lifestyle, I can’t wait to work with you, too! To find out more about my in-home decor and color consultation services, please contact me here!
